38-year old man caught transporting P.5M Marijuana and frozen fetus

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A man was caught transporting suspected dried Marijuana evening of February 5 and claimed to the police that there was a fetus in his car which he said was his when his vehicle was flagged down.


Suspect identified as Ronnel Tacata, 38, and resident of Ilocos Norte was flagged down by the authorities at the Quarantine Control Point in Barangay Bantay after the police received a tip from a concerned citizen, Tabuk City Chief of Police PLtCol. Radino Belly said.

Belly added that when the drug sniffer dogs showed indication that there were illegal drugs in the vehicle that came from Buscalan, they then conducted a search wherein nine pieces of dried Marijuana leaves in tubular with an estimated amount of P468,000 were seized.


Additionally, apart from the illegal drugs, the suspect told the police that there was a fetus placed in a white pail. When they checked, it was wrapped and was frozen.


“Allegedly ti kunana di August paylang kanu diyay nga iyawid na kuma ijay Ilocos nga apan na ipunpun ta Ilocos iti residence na gamin, Ilocos Norte. So tatta iyawid na kuma ta ipunpun na, nagderetso met ijay Buscalan nga napan ginmatang iti Marijuana then santo kuma agawid ijay Ilocos ket na-intercept tayo,” he said.

The suspect was brought to Tabuk City Police Station and the alleged fetus is to be buried today, February 6 after Kalinga Provincial Hospital advised since it is already smelly.


“Inpa examine mi ket nag ala da met iti sample na tapos iti advice da ket ipunpun mi kanu tatta,” Belly said.


The Chief of Police added that the alleged fetus will be buried to the nearest cemetery after coordination and after it will be blessed.
