39-yr.-old man in Cagayan who molested daughter multiple times arrested by police

Baggao, Cagayan – A 39-year-old farmer who sexually abused his own daughter multiple times was arrested Tuesday, November 28 in Baggao, Cagayan.

The first time the man did the unthinkable, as relayed by the police to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, occurred some time in April 2020.

Based on the report, the victim’s mother was not at their residence at that time the crime was committed since she was staying at a boarding house and was about to give birth.

The victim never had the chance to ask for help since residences in the area are nonadjacent to each other. What added to her fear of speaking up was that the suspect threatened he would kill her if she said anything about the incident.

The rape had been repeated since then.

It was only in May this year that the victim told her classmates what had happened to her, urging them to relay it to their adviser, who then helped the victim to seek assistance from authorities.

The mother of the victim upon knowing was determined to file a case against her husband, and thus the court issued the arrest warrant.

The accused voluntarily surrendered to the police when the warrant was served and admitted committing the crime.

The 39 yr.-old farmer is now at the Baggao Police Station awaiting court proceedings.

The suspect was later found to be in the most wanted list and is the third most wanted person in the records of the Women and Children Protection Desk of Cagayan Valley.
