Baguio City, Philippines – A woman was stabbed to death inside their home early morning of July 11 at Bermuda Hills, San Luis, Baguio City.
The victim’s son who came from the hospital was the first to discover the dead body of his mom at 5 AM of said day.
The victim was supposed to relieve her son from taking care of a family member at the hospital, but she was not able to come at the agreed time, prompting her son to check on her.
Upon arriving at their house, her son noticed that the main door was locked, making him even more worried as he knew his mother was inside along with his 3-year-old sibling.
He destroyed the lock and managed to enter their house, but upon opening the door of his mom’s room, he saw his mother lying on the floor with stab wounds.
Police said the victim sustained wounds in various parts of her body. Based on the stab wounds, they presumed that the woman tried to fight against the suspect before she was killed.
Baguio City police identified the victim as Floradel De Mesa, a native of Masbate, but residing in said area.
Police investigation further revealed that around P100,000 cash was missing from the victim’s house, leading them to believe that the suspects were after the money.
Meantime, authorities disclosed they now have a lead on the culprits but withheld further information as the case is still being conducted.
