4 men from Kalinga caught selling P12M marijuana in Quezon, Isabela

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Four men from Kalinga were put behind bars in Cagayan Valley region after allegedly selling millions worth of contraband to an undercover agent in Quezon, Isabela.


Operatives from Isabela launched a buy-bust operation on Tuesday morning, November 28 wherein the four suspects were said to have transacted with undercover police in Purok 1, Barangay Abut.

The operation led to the confiscation of 100kg of suspected dried marijuana which is estimated to be P12,000,000.


Other items recovered from the accused include a caliber 9mm with ammunition; the buy-bust and boodle money; and the motorcycle and tricycle used bythe suspects in ferrying the suspected illegal drugs.


The four suspects who were identified as Ericson Wacnang, 25, resident of Lacnog; Troy Balloc, 32, from Butbut, Tinglayan; Jesrael Maggongoy, 18, from Agbannawag; and August Malnag, 28, and resident of Butbut were brought to the custody of Philippine Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit 2.


The contraband, meantime, was brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory in Roxas, Isabela.
