63-yr.-old man who went out to watch basketball game found dead in Isabela irrigation

Updated: Aug 17

Alicia, Isabela – A 63-year-old man who went out just to watch a basketball game at their barangay hall in Santo Domingo, Alicia, was found dead in an irrigation canal on Tuesday, August 15.

The victim, Warlito Bravo, was first discovered by some residents of Barangay Del Pilar in the same town around 8 AM on said date.

A barangay official reported it to Alicia police urging authorities to check on the dead body.

The body was then positively identified by a relative as that of Bravo.

The identity of the victim was quickly made since a relative of Bravo also searched for him after he noticed that his uncle was nowhere to be found the morning of said date.

According to him, the victim had a habit of waking up as early as 4 in the morning but at that time, he never saw the victim come out of his house, urging him to report that his uncle was missing to barangay officials.

Investigations disclosed the elderly headed to their barangay hall Monday, August 14, to watch a basketball game.

While heading home drunk, police said he might have fallen off the irrigation canal and drowned, resulting in his death.

He was last seen alive by a certain Arnold Bryan Garingan, who said he even offered a ride to the victim when he saw him heading home, but the latter refused.
