PINUKPUK, Kalinga — Three alleged drug personalities are set to face charges after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Aciga, Pinukpuk, Kalinga over the weekend.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as a 51-year-old businessman and a 31-year-old unemployed woman, both residents of Aciga, and a 41-year-old farmer from Barangay Cattabogan.

The three were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the PDEA Kalinga Provincial Office, in coordination with PDEA Region 2, the PRO CAR Provincial Drug Enforcement Group, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, Regional Intelligence Division, and the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

According to authorities, the suspects were arrested after allegedly selling suspected illegal drugs to an undercover agent.

Anti-drug operatives recovered approximately 11 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱74,800, along with drug paraphernalia.

The seized suspected drug evidence was turned over to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while the three arrested individuals were brought to the custody of the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station for proper processing.

They are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, PDEA Cordillera described the operation as resulting in the “effective dismantling of a drug den.”

The suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
