Anakpawis 4th nominee from Baggao, Cagayan arrested

Cagayan, Philippines − Anakpawis Party list 4th Nominee from Baggao, Cagayan was arrested on April 8, 2022, almost a year since a warrant of arrest was issued against him, with no bail recommended.

The Police Regional Office 2 Regional Public Information Office reported that Isabelo Adviento, aka ‘Buting’, 57 was arrested in an intel-driven operation in Barangay Luyang, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Adviento is said to be the chairperson of DANGGAYAN Cagayan Valley and an Anakpawis Regional Coordinator.

The suspect has an arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act which covers RA 9516, RA 8294, and Presidential Decree 1866.

It was reported that the case was filed against the suspect when government operatives discovered firearms, ammunition, and other explosives at his residence on December 2, 2020. His warrant of arrest was issued on June 17, 2021, with no bail recommended.

Nearly a year since his arrest warrant was released by the Regional Trial Court in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, the suspect was nabbed in a joint operation consisting of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines on April 8.

Police Region 2 Director PBGEN Steve Ludan conveyed that the authorities will continue to intensify their campaign against loose firearms relative to the anti-insurgency and terrorism program of the PNP.
