Apayao, Philippines – Various products of local micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Apayao were featured during the annual regional celebration of 2022 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) held last week at the Benguet State University closed gym.
With the theme, “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon,” the NSTW in Cordillera serves as a pre-event to the national celebration in November which recognizes the importance of science and technology in achieving national development and progress for Filipinos.
Among the highlight of the event was the Science and Technology Bazaar launched to help the assisted MSME in promoting and marketing their products.
Apayao products displayed and sold during the event include coffee, weaving designs, wine, and accessories.
According to Precious Abigail Aguinaldo of Provincial Science and Technology Office, Apayao State College, their partner state university and college (SUC), along with Remedios Rebiajos of Rebiajos Food Products were present in the bazaar.
Other cooperators and associations, she said, opted to send their products through the personnel of PSTO.
Among those who sent products were Jannah’s Food Store, Aloag Rice Mill, Ortega’s Cocoa Tablea, Amalia’s Food Products, V&R Organic Fruit Wine, Barangay Health Workers Association of Pudtol, Saranay Multi-purpose Cooperative, MR’s Food Products, among others.
Assisted MSMEs thanked the department for staging the event which, they expressed, are of great help in their advertising campaign.
Also conducted in said week was the S&T exhibit that showcased the Department of Science and Technology - developed technologies and assisted research and development projects.
