Army exchanges fire with rebels in Cagayan

Cagayan, Philippines ˗ The Armed Forces of the Philippines exchanged fire with a group of communist terrorist group in Sitio Bagsang, Sta. Clara, Gonzaga this January 29.

Initial report disclosed that the government troops had an armed encounter with the still undetermined number of suspected rebels around 4:30 in the morning.

While casualties are yet to be determined, an anti-criminality checkpoint has been established, and the troops were directed to standby upon request to serve as blocking force.

Moreover, the intelligence operatives were directed to check and monitor clinics and hospitals near the encounter site for possible arrest of wounded CTGs.
