Tabuk City, Kalinga – Despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman of Committee on Cooperatives, Board Member Lester Lee Tarnate has assured continued support for the 98 active cooperatives from the different municipalities and the city in the province of Kalinga.

Tarnate made the pledge during the Provincial Cooperative Forum held on Friday, January 28 at Davidson Hotel and Restaurant, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

As he expressed gratitude to all the members and representatives of the cooperatives who came, though limited due to imposed restrictions, the chairman said their participation in the forum would help improve their organization, especially with the recommendations provided by the partner agencies.

National line agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) were invited to share and present their programs, services, and plans for the cooperative members to know what to avail for the development of their cooperatives.

Moreover, the Provincial Cooperative Enterprise and Development Office (PCEDO) facilitated an open forum in the afternoon for the managers and officers to share their concerns and have them be addressed.

Tarnate encouraged all members of various cooperatives to embody the spirit of cooperativism as stated in the coop’s pledge that they should have ‘one vision, one belief, one feeling.’

“When it comes to support iti kooperatiba a kailangan idiay Sangguniang Panlalawigan ket adda latta met daytoy numo ti biyang a sidadaan a tumulong ken sumoporta kadagiti kasapulan yu,” the chairman of coop’s committee underscored.
