Balbalan, Kalinga – Arrested New People’s Army member who had a gunfight with the government forces was listed second Municipal Top Most Wanted Person in Balbalan during the second quarter of 2022.
Alias Trio, 51, was captured by the military on a clearing operation on March 14, five days after the clash between a Communist Terrorist Group and the army in Gawaan, Balbalan.
The rebel who is said to be a member of the Regional Sentro De Gravidad (RSDG), Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Committee (ICRC) and Kilusang Larangang Guerilla (KLG) Baggas was turned over to the Balbalan police the late morning of March 16.
Upon checking records, authorities confirmed that Trio has a standing warrant of arrest for murder which was issued on January 14, 2013.
Said arrest warrant was served to him by the police around 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, says information from PCapt. Ruff Manganip, Kalinga Police Provincial Information Officer.
The suspect was also charged with illegal possession of firearms.
Background of Murder Case
The suspect was linked to the armed encounter that happened at Sitio Luswacan, Barangay Maling, Balbalan a decade ago.
Said clash claimed the life of a soldier and wounded 3 others.
