Barangay Galdang in Pasil, Kalinga achieves 100% COVID-19 vaccine rate

Pasil, Kalinga – Barangay Galdang of this town is the first to achieve 100% COVID-19 vaccination rate of its target population, revealed Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Aldrin Siwao.

Siwao reiterated that the percentage is based from the actual population of Galdang wherein the BHWs conducted a house to house survey if all members of the family are all vaccinated based from the target population of 12 years old and above.

According to the municipal health officer, all the individuals in the said barangay who are qualified to be vaccinated already received their dose/s since January 2022.

When asked for the factors contributing to the recent accomplishment, Siwao explained it is attributed to the cooperation of the community and their awareness of the benefits of inoculation.

“…tsaka talaga a patpatien da diay health worker da idiay a ni Mrs. Rosa Sabawil who just retired December of last year, it was really her legacy,” added the municipal health officer.

Siwao underscored that Galdang has always been a recipient of different awards.

The barangay will soon be given incentive from the municipal local government unit headed by Mayor Alfredo ‘Chao-ig’ Malannag Jr.
