Pasil, Kalinga – Pasil Mayor Alfredo ‘Chao-ig’ Malannag Jr. expressed confidence and pride after delivering the news of the recent approval of the municipality’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

The CLUP is a general plan designed to guide future actions of a community, which includes a vision for the future, with long-range goals and objectives for all activities that the local government wants to do.

"It is with distinct pride and honor that this Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) covering the period 2021 to 2030 has been completed and to (begin implementation) during my incumbency,” exclaimed ‘Chao-ig’ in his message.

The CLUP of Pasil contained in Resolution No. 2021-05 approved by the members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan-Kalinga under the supervision of Vice-Governor, Atty. Dave Odiem late December last year.

The body likewise approved the 2021-2026 Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) and 2021-2023 Local Climate Change Adaptation Plan (LCCAP) of the municipality.

Malannag, through his official Facebook page, expressed appreciation for the recent development. This, he said, paves the way for the long-term development of lands or areas in Pasil.

“I came to a decision that for Pasil, we must first have to step back and be circumspect about the disposition of the available resources left in our midst. To operationalize this thought, I endeavored for the formulation of a Strategic Plan for Pasil with an overarching aim of rationalizing and regulating land-use for the purpose of promoting more desirable social and economic outcomes and increase efficiency in the use of resources,” the mayor stressed.

In addition, Malannag said he desires to link social and economic developments while protecting and enhancing the environment. This is to achieve sustainable land management and to raise the degree of resiliency among the people of Pasil from the impacts of climate change.

“To my dear Pasilians, with the completion of the CLUP, we are now a notch better than yesterday…But while it is true that we now have a readily deployable plan, the ultimate realization of our aspirations for Pasil, shall now depend on how committed we are in taking action on what is required of us,” challenged the mayor.
