Body found along Chico River in Tabuk identified

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The dead man found floating at the riverbank in Tabuk City today, June 16, was identified by a relative as Lito Ngayom, of legal age, and a resident of Dugnac, Antonio Canao in Lubuagan.

Early this morning, the lifeless body was seen in Mosimos, Dupag by residents of said barangay.

Tabuk City Councilor Samuel Suma-al informed Guru Press Cordillera about the incident, saying they tried to retrieve the body but were prevented by the strong water current.

The body was finally salvaged by the rescue workers mid-morning.

After retrieval, a relative of the victim identified him and told Tabuk City police that the man was last seen on June 13, 2022 in Barangay Poblacion, Lubuagan and went missing since then.

He added that the man was suffering from a mental illness and used to wander around Lubuagan and Tinglayan.

The body was later brought home by his relatives to Lubuagan.
