Burglar in Tabuk caught by patrolling police

Tabuk City, Kalinga — A man suspected for breaking into a business establishment in Barangay Dagupan Weste was arrested by the police who were on patrol on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.


The identity of the suspect is withheld as the police are still looking for his cohort who managed to escape the crime scene.


Police Lieutenant Jean Pacia, Chief of Community Affairs Division at Tabuk City Police Station said that the police were patrolling past 12 midnight when they saw this man running to hide under a car which was parked beside the said store in Dagupan West.

His action aroused suspicion from the police which led to the discovery of a forced entry into the establishment in the area. A steel saw and steel bar were recovered from him.


When the police questioned the suspect, he disclosed that he and his companion destroyed the padlock of the roll-up door of the store in order to get in. He added that a pouch from the establishment was taken by his cohort who exited at the backdoor.

The police arrested the man and brought him to the Tabuk City Police Station.


Based on the inventory and ocular inspection of the owner of the establishment, she revealed that her collection amounting to P73,000 is missing.


A case of Robbery with Force Upon Things has already been filed against the suspect and his companion.
