Veterans in Mt. Province honored on Day of Valor

Mountain Province, Philippines – In recognition of their heroism and patriotism during the 1942 Battle of Bataan, the veterans in Mountain Province were honored by the police in commemoration of “Araw ng Kagitingan” (Day of Valor) this April 09, 2022.


PNP–Cordillera relayed that the personnel of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office along with the Philippine Army, living veterans, including their spouses and widows celebrated the event through a wreath-laying ceremony.

Veterans Laurence Pangod, Pio Kidpo and Paulo Pagteilan were present in the program.

Held at the Veterans Memorial Park, Provincial Plaza, Bontoc, 21-gun salute and sounding of taps or a bugle call were observed.

The Municipal Police Station of Paracelis made visit to Andres Wanason, a 103-year-old veteran and likewise offered prayers to the tomb of Sir Placido Cabacsan.


Further, Natonin MPS provided goods to Wangchan Gatao Tawaran, a 97-year-old veteran during their visit to their residence in Barangay Butac.
