Ilagan City, Isabela – The remains of the six-year-old boy who went missing after accidentally falling into a river in Calamagui 1st, Ilagan City, Isabela were finally found by rescuers around 11 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
His body was retrieved through a search operation conducted by Ilagan CDRRMC, Isabela PDRRMO Response Team, and barangay officials.
The child identified as Sky Baston, was reported to have drowned in the river at 3:30 PM on December 27.
“Puro bata kasama niya na naglaro hanggang sa napadpad sila sa ilog malapit lang din sa bahay. Na slide suna diay bakras [ta] apan na kanu hugasan diay tsinelas na ta napitak,” a relative said in an interview.
The victim, she added, is the first child among three siblings.
In a statement, Provincial Administrator Atty. Noel Lopez of the local government unit of Isabela said the PDDRM and CDRRM office is prepared for any disaster, especially this yuletide season.
The public only needs to contact said offices on their hotlines in case of emergency.
