Certificates of Valor awarded to 4 Epidemiology and Surveillance Units in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Four Epidemiology and Surveillance Units in Kalinga received today, March 21, 2022 a Certificate of Valor in recognition of their unyielding bravery, courage, and determination that contributed to the attainment of a Safer Cordillera through “Early capture… Fast Response.”

The certificates from the Department of Health – Cordillera, dated December 29, 2021 were conferred to the unit heads during the flag raising ceremony of the provincial government at the Kalinga Astrodome

The Provincial Governor’s Office – Information Services explained that the Certificate of Valor is given to health care entities that have exemplified extra-ordinary services that supported the standard programs and mandates of the Department of Health.

Among the entities awarded were Kalinga Provincial Epidemiological Surveillance Unit headed by Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Edward Tandingan, Kalinga Provincial Hospital Epidemiological Surveillance Unit led by PHO I Dr. Marlyn T. Duyan, Juan M Duyan Memorial District Hospital-Epidemiological Surveillance Unit headed by Dr. Rey Aranca, and Kalinga Gabriela Mija Kim Medical Center Epidemiological Surveillance Unit under the leadership of Dr. Ruth B. Duguiang.

Also recognized during the event was the Public Employment Service Office – Kalinga and its manager, Grace M. Kidang-Flores, for bagging 2021 Best PESO under Provincial Category, 2021 Top PESO in the Most Number of Beneficiaries Reached in Career Guidance and Employment Coaching, 2021 Top Performer in the Submission of Reports under Provincial Category, 2021 Top Performer in Referral and Placement under Provincial Category, and 2021 Top Performer in the highest number of beneficiaries reached in Labor Market Information.

Governor Ferdinand Tubban congratulated the outstanding services of the awardees that brought honor to the province, adding these are results of dedicated and committed public service.
