Dagupan Centro bans face cloth-cover following carnap incident

Tabuk City, Kalinga ─Following incidents of stolen motor vehicles and robbery, Dagupan Centro Punong Barangay George Esteras issued a directive prohibiting the wearing of cloth to cover the head and face among motorists and those entering the barangay starting April 20.

As recalled, Punong Barangay George Esteras became a victim of motorcycle carnapping on broad daylight, where the suspects were seen using clothes to fully cover their face and head in his neighbor’s CCTV recorded footage.

With this, Esteras came up with the implementation that said new measure is to prevent such incident in the barangay.

“Isu met ti samsamantalaen dagiti carnapper kada agtatakaw dagiyay ngay nakabaridbed da a haan a malasin ti ruprupa da isunga nu ditoy Dagupan Centro, at least diay face mask a regular nga agong ken ngiwat lang ti makaluban,” he said.

He believed that the very item meant to keep people safe during the pandemic is now being taken advantaged by criminals to do criminal activities even in broad daylight.

Meantime, the Punong Barangay is also giving free face masks to those using cloth to cover their faces.
