The program of the provincial government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office intends to honor the success and contribution of womankind to society.

Governor Ferdinand Tubban believes in the power of women as they can give birth to and rear great leaders that can lead the community towards desirable changes.

Women, he said, can likewise sacrifice their time to raise good children and teach them how to be active, profitable, and positive influence in our communities.

“Dakayo nga kababaihan tatta ket adun ti naaramidan yu, adu pay ti maaramidan yu isu ngarud nga isu ti adbokasiya tayo nga nu mabalin ma-inspire tayo, ma-empower tayo nga mangaramid ti naduma-duma nga trabaho idiay komunidad tayo,” stressed the governor.

Tubban added that the power of men is not enough to give love and peace, especially during the darkest hours, which he considers as God’s purpose in creating women. Hence, it is but proper to give due recognition to the vital role played by the women sector and promote gender equality.

As the governor cited the Global Gender Gap report of the World Economic forum stating that the Philippines remains one of the top in Asia in closing the gender gap, he underscored the fact that women dominate the provincial government.

“Kayat na saoen, dakayo ti ilaw ti pamilya, ilaw to komunidad. Nu awan kayo, nagnanayun nga awan silaw,” Tubban concluded.
