Tanudan, Kalinga – Several dogs in four barangays in Tanudan have been treated and dewormed this November 11 in response to reports that dogs in their areas were observed to be lethargic and infected with parasites.

Livestock Coordinator of the Tanudan Municipal Agricultural Services, Joel Duguiang, explained that the constituents in Poblacion, Lower Mangali, Mangali Centro, and Anggacan reported to their office that several dogs in their barangays have mange and that some are lethargic and unable to eat.

“Kasla agsasadut da ngay, aglaladut dagitoy haan da mangan kasdiay tapos in-refer tayo met idiay vet[Provincial Veterinary Office] nu adda iti agas nga mabalin nga mai-recommend,” he said, adding that some of the dogs were infected with parasites.

After coordination with the Provincial Veterinary Office, the team proceeded to the four barangays on November 11, where then they were able to treat and deworm around 37 dogs.

Of these 37 dogs, 3 were treated in Anggacan, 9 in Poblacion, 9 in Lower Mangali, and 16 in Mangali Centro.

Duguiang said that these are only the partial number as there are other dogs who were not treated on the said date since their owners were not at home.

“Haan nalpas amin nga barangays ta awan tao nga madanunan da ti balbalay, awan mangtingngel kadagiti as-aso da ta wild da ken haan da naikulong,” he explained.
