Tabuk City, Kalinga – With more police officers on the streets, the Kalinga Police Provincial Director calls on the public to follow traffic rules and not wait to get arrested for violations.

The director made the pronouncement on June 20, 2022 when the Kalinga police officially launched the ‘Oplan Revital’, a program that targets reduction of road accidents and crimes by increasing presence of police on the ground.

In an interview with Guru Press, Police Colonel Peter Tagtag Jr. explained that deploying additional police force on the main streets of Tabuk City seeks to prevent crimes and road accidents.

Tagtag shared that most causes of vehicular traffic incidents in the city are linked to human error - drunk driving, inattentiveness, and reckless driving, among others.

These, he said, are what they are trying to control to lessen road mishaps. Another aim of the deployment is the education of motorists to be responsible drivers.

Tagtag asks the public to cooperate with the police and not to wait to get arrested or receive citation tickets before they discipline themselves.

“Isu iti dawatek lang ken dagiay kakailyan nga taga Tabuk ket sumurot tayo … Haan tayo nga urayen nga matiliw tayo, sumurot tayo ta awan met dakes na, pag-safety an tayo met lang daytoy,” he appealed to the public.
