DTI-Kalinga confers silver ‘Bagwis Awards’ to 2 business establishments in Tabuk City

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two silver ‘Bagwis Awards’ were conferred by the Department of Trade and Industry-Kalinga to the two (2) business owners in Tabuk City who upheld rights of consumers while practicing responsible business.


The awarding was held during the launching of ‘Kalinga Treasures Fair 2022’ along the national road in Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City this February 14, 2022.


Ma. Cecil Baral of DTI-Kalinga explained the Bagwis Program gives due recognition to establishments with outstanding compliance with trade and industry laws, effective customer relations, efficient store management operation, and exemplification of social commitment and social responsibility.


The two awardees are Regina Madio of PRAJ Pasalubong Center and General Merchandise and Equity Machineries represented by the manager, Frederick Pangilinan.

Both were given silver Bagwis seal valid from September 30, 2021 to September 20, 2024 and certificate of recognition for being compliant to Fair Trade Laws, Consumer Welfare Desk (CWD) plus the practice of corporate social responsibility.


Baral said the award has been practiced by the department since July 26, 2006.


The program, she added, is open to all retail establishments such as the supermarkets or the groceries, department stores, convenience stores, hardware stores, appliance centers and the DTI-accredited service and repair shop enterprises.

The department continues in advocating the programs and promoting customer service excellence to ensure consumers get the best value for money.
