First face-to-face graduation ceremony held in Cagayan amid pandemic


Cagayan, Philippines – The University of St. Louis Tuguegarao has successfully conducted its face-to-face graduation ceremony, the first commencement exercise in Cagayan in almost two years due to the threat of Covid-19.


Since the pandemic broke out in the country on March 16, 2020, schools have adopted blended learning and graduation ceremonies in all levels had been held virtually.


Nearly two years since the outbreak of Covid-19, the University of St. Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held its 50th Commencement Exercise in person and around 350 graduates have been conferred their degree on-site.

The program was brief and attendees of the momentous event were limited and that the university made sure all of the participants were fully vaccinated.


“All participants of this event are fully vaccinated. USL follows all the safety and health protocols in the production of the Commencement Exercise,” the university wrote in their caption for the Facebook live streaming of the activity.


Meantime, USLT was also the first university in Cagayan that started the limited face-to-face classes for health allied programs such as Medical Technology course.
