Gov. Tubban recognizes roles of barangay workers during BHWs, BNS Congress in Tinglayan

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban has recognized the exemplary roles of barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) and barangay health workers (BHW) describing them as modern-day heroes during the BNS and BHW Congress held in Tinglayan Tuesday, December 7, 2021.


In his message, Tubban said that these barangay workers are the ones in charge of the delivery of prescribed solutions for health hunger and malnutrition and that these efforts should be acknowledged, their stories to be shared, and their sacrifices should be gratified.


“As they say, not all superheroes wear capes, some are at the barangays delivering excellent health services to each constituent,” Tubban said, pertaining to the nutrition scholars and barangay health workers.


In recognition of these efforts, Tubban said that the provincial government is supportive of the act of strengthening and institutionalizing the barangay primary health care program, providing security of the additional benefits and incentives to barangay health workers and barangay nutrition scholars.

He likewise informed them that there is an increase of P500 in their incentives, which will take effect next year.


“This is just the beginning. I know that there is no amount that can ever pay your sacrifices, but with the exemplary act of assistance, I am sure that there will be more for you. We can do a lot of things together for this province, our beloved Kalinga,” the governor stated.


He likewise congratulated barangay health workers and barangay nutrition scholars and urge them to continue their untiring services and live with the theme of this year’s congress.
