Tabuk City, Kalinga- Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban greeted the Kalinga Muslim Community today, May 13, as they observe the Eid’l Fitr or the end of the month-long fasting of Ramadan.

‘Ako’y taus-pusong bumabati po sa lahat ng ating mga kababayang Muslim sa buong bansa lalo na sa Muslim Community dito sa Lalawigan ng Kalinga, sa inyong pagdiriwang po ng Eid’l Fitr,’ the governor said in a message.

Tubban expressed admiration to the Muslim faith as he encouraged that their value of sacrifice, forgiveness, and love be emulated to help others and maintain peace.

He likewise encouraged the public to cooperate and observe health protocols while celebrating to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” Eid’l Fitr, commemorates the end of the fasting and prayer month of Ramadan. In this special kind of occasion, many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to a khutba (sermon), give zakat al-fitr (charity in the form of food), family visits, gift-giving, and charity.
