“Indigent patients should not be deprived of the best health care”-Cong. Mangaoang

Tabuk City, Kalinga – With the establishment of the Multipurpose Operating and Delivery Room Complex of Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) this November 16, Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang in his message emphasized that indigent patients should not be deprived of the best health care service only because they cannot pay.

According to Mangaoang, access to health services is a human right for all and not a privilege for those who could afford it.

Health, he explained, is a fundamental human right, for it is the foundation for individuals and families to flourish, communities to prosper, and nations to thrive.

For this reason, the representative of the Lone District of Kalinga along with Provincial Governor Ferdinand Tubban has been pushing programs towards the promotion of health care services such as the upgrading of KPH into tertiary level hospitals, among others.

The Congressman believes that the recent development, which is the inauguration of the newly built facility with 28 free ward beds and 16 private ward beds at KPH Compound, pictures the right direction of the province in navigating in terms of health advancement.

With the fully equipped facility, there shall be lesser referrals to other hospitals.

Mangaoang then expressed confidence that the provincial hospital can collectively face the challenges in the future because of the spirit of care that guides the health workers.

He hopes that “the operationalization of the facility will revert the bad publicity of the public hospitals.”

“Mutual cooperation is always a key component in surmounting problems like this pandemic so let us be steadfast in intensifying efforts in safeguarding public health, continue to strengthen the cooperation, mechanisms, and sustain the promotion of a holistic approach in responding to public health emergencies,” the Congressman underscored.
