Tabuk City, Kalinga – Following his acceptance of the P600,000 worth check, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab of Tinglayan called for the employees under the umbrella of Kalinga provincial government to strengthen unity for the realization of their battle cry – Kalinga LUMIN-AWA.

Gumilab together with his constituents during the regular flag raising ceremony on Monday, April 24, was awarded the said amount for recording the highest number of gong players and pot dancers during the historic ensemble in the province.

Speaking before the employees of Kalinga PLGU, the mayor recognized the importance of the workforce, saying the success of the policies and plans of the provincial government is dependent upon them.

The government officials, he said, plan and think of the different ways to improve the province but it is the employees who put such into reality, just like the 8-point agenda of Edduba administration contained in the banner LUMIN-AWA Kalinga.

“Without you, all promises and plans of our governor, vice governor will not be attainable or would not result in a good thing, [especially] if you’re not going to work as one,” stressed Gumilab.

He likened the situation to the collaboration of yTinglayans that resulted in them winning the prize.

“This is a testament and a manifestation that together, as one yKalinga, we could achieve so much,” the mayor said.

“It is only in unity, in our cooperation that we could achieve better Kalinga, it is only through that would we realize the battle cry of the province of Kalinga - Kalinga LUMIN-AWA,” he underscored.
