Kalinga, 3rd on highest number of fully vaccinated individuals CAR


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga ranked third in the list of provinces in the region having the highest number of fully vaccinated individuals, the Provincial Health Office said Monday, May 23, during the flag ceremony at the Provincial Capitol.

The province, as of this writing, has 147,050 fully vaccinated individuals, or 82% of the target population of 179, 754.


Topping the list is Baguio City with its 108.49 percent fully vaccinated individuals, followed by Abra with 98.56 percent.


At present, the province has started inoculating the COVID-19 vaccination second booster dose to priority group A1 (Frontline Healthcare Service Workers) and Group A2 (Senior Citizens).

Also, PHO continues to provide technical assistance to sub-LGUs, maintains their vaccination outreach program every Friday, and provides daily updates to decision-makers for the evaluation of the current Covid-19 policy in order to assist hospitals and infirmaries in treating covid-19 cases, according to PIO-Kalinga.


The Provincial Local Government Unit along with PHO was also reported to roll out a new intensive vaccination drive – primary and booster vaccines with the aim of achieving herd immunity or the 70% of the total population of the adult and minor age group in Kalinga.

Meantime, as to updates on programs and projects of PHO-Kalinga this year, Tandingan said they will be holding the Nutrition Program in July in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Education to address malnutrition among children.


Other PPAs include the creation of a Breastfeeding Lactation Station in the Provincial Capitol Office for nursing mothers, the Environmental Health Program particularly the distribution of insecticide-treated curtains for public schools in Tabuk City, Lubuagan, Tinglayan and Pasil, declaration of Zero Open Defecation in 5 barangays of Tinglayan and Pinukpuk and the Population Management Program for responsible parenthood.

Further, PHO will also be responsible for implementing the Health Promotion Playbook, the Integrated Vector Management Dengue to prevent and control the spread of the said mosquitoes, purchase of medicines, and the proposal of the waste management and sewerage systems for district hospitals.
