Kalinga PHO reminds public, ‘now is NOT the time to go easy and relax over COVID-19 precautions’

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Provincial Health Office of Kalinga warned the public anew over the alarming new active COVID-19 cases being recorded in the country, saying now is not the time to go easy and relax in the minimum health protocols.

Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Edward Tandingan expressed his concern over the report of the Department of Health (DoH), logging 1,019 new COVID-19 active cases in just a single day, pushing the active cases to 56,668 as of Tuesday, February 22.

This, Tandingan stated, is a cause of concern and the community should be reminded to continue abiding with health guidelines.

Additionally, individuals who are not yet vaccinated are encouraged to take their dose to protect themselves and those who are close to them. Those who are already fully vaccinated, he said, must have their booster doses to avoid getting infected with the virus or experiencing severe symptoms.

As of February 22, a total of 134,484 out of the 222,826 total population were fully vaccinated. Of the fully vaccinated individuals, only 16, 355 received their booster shots.
