Kalinga police chase criminal in mud, P.1M shabu seized


Tabuk City, Kalinga – A wanted person in Tabuk City and the police operatives were covered in mud after a chase on Tuesday afternoon in Lacnog East.


Around 2:00 p.m. on February 21, the Kalinga police headed to Lacnog East to serve an arrest warrant to Bobby Ganggang, 37, who was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.


The suspect is also a High Value Individual and a Regional Top 10 Drug Personality in Cordillera.

Upon arrival at the area, the suspect ran towards the rice field in his attempt to escape the authorities, Kalinga Police Information Officer, PCapt. Ruff Manganip told GURU Press Cordillera.


Police chased Ganggang in the mud and successfully arrested him.


Manganip added that the operative likewise recovered sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect. The contraband estimated to be 29 grams is worth P197,200.


The police further recovered an Elite shooter caliber 45, live ammunition, a cellphone, cash, and drug paraphernalia from the accused.


Ganggang was brought to Kalinga Police Provincial Office for documentation.


Appropriate charges are now being prepared against him.
