Kalinga prioritizes areas with low vax rate on round 4 of 3-day national vax drive

Tabuk City, Kalinga – As the National Vaccination Days IV kicked off in Kalinga this March 10, 2022, the provincial government through its Provincial Health Office along with various health centers are giving focus on remote areas with low vaccination rate.


The national and the local government have been pursuing their vaccination drive to protect the community from experiencing the severe effects of COVID-19.


With the NVD IV which will be until Saturday, March 12, the provincial government aims to achieve herd immunity or inoculate at least 80% of its total population.


As of March 02, the province reported a 62.39 percent inoculation rate, with 139,026 individuals out of 222,826 target population who received their first dose.


On March 10, the first day of the NVD IV, the PHO reports that 399 individuals were inoculated, which is 11.38 percent of the 3,505 target population.

According to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Edward Tandingan, all COVID-19 vaccine brands are available at the vaccination site at the Capitol ground and at the sites set up by various health centers in the province.


In Pasil, the vaccination this March 11 is in Balatoc; Municipal Health Center in Poblacion for Balbalan; Lower Uma Barangay Health Station (BHS) for Lubuagan; Suyang BHS and Health Center II in Bulanao for Tabuk City; Rural Health Unit and Mangali for Tanudan; Tourism Building, Liwan West in Rizal; and RHU, Bugnay, Buscalan and Mallango for Tinglayan.

Balbalan have the same activity tomorrow in Poswoy; Tanglag and Mabongtot BHS for Lubuagan; RHU and Pangol for Tanudan; and Basao for Tinglayan. The rest of the municipalities started vaccinating on March 09.

The province also requires vaccination cards for inbound and outbound travelers. This is to prevent the possible surge of cases within the locality.


Governor Ferdinand Tubban and PHO Tandingan are encouraging the unvaccinated person to get the jab for their own and family’s safety.
