Kalinga records 1,201 Covid protocol violators in 21 days


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Around 1,201 individuals in Kalinga were caught violating the minimum health standard protocols from September 1 – 21, 2021, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office reports.


During a recent Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force meeting, Kalinga Police Director, Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong reported that of these 1,201 individuals; 914 were caught not wearing a face mask,237 were improperly wearing their face mask, and 50 were caught not observing social and physical distancing.


These 1,201 violators have been warned and fined.


Meantime, there were 205 individuals who have been denied entry to Kalinga due to non-essential itineraries and lack of required documents for the period September 17 to 21.

Of these 205 individuals, 118 were denied entry from the border checkpoints in Rizal; 46 in Tabuk City, and 15 in Pinukpuk.


Kalinga has been classified as high epidemic risk level due to the increase of Covid-19 cases which led to the temporary closure of hospitals and health workers getting infected in the last two weeks.


The occupancy rate of Covid-19 facilities in the province is now more than 70% but not less than 85%.


As of September 23, Kalinga logged 170 new confirmed Covid-19 cases.
