Tabuk City, Kalinga – During the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) meeting earlier this October 12, 2021, authorities reported that there are no major untoward incidents and all roads in the province remain open.

Although there have been instances of minor flooding in low-lying areas with the Tabuk City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) reporting a damaged flood control in Barangay Cabaruan, the overall situation in the province is not critical.

According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), there are no evacuees and the Agriculture Office of the province stated there have not been alarming reports of crop damage.

Meantime, the police for their part in monitoring and augmenting manpower during the passage of the typhoon saw no incidents of vehicular or road accidents.

Nevertheless, Governor Ferdinand Tubban assured that though there are no incidents reported yet, the province is ready with rescue, relief and response teams for possible negative effects.

“Relief aid like food packs and non-food items are ready to be provided in case the need arises. Let us pray that Kalinga remains safe. Please stay alert and mindful of the possible unwanted effects of the typhoon even after the strong winds abated,” Governor Tubban posted through his official Facebook account.

The monitoring team of the PDRRMO are presently doing their rounds, and updates may be reported later in the afternoon.

As of this writing, all municipalities and the City are still on Red Alert.
