Tabuk City, Kalinga – More than 90 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from various provinces in the Cordillera, as well as from Regions 2 and 3, are showcasing and selling their locally made products to the public at the Kalinga Treasures Fair 2026.
Located along Manuel S. Agayao Boulevard in Bulanao, Tabuk City, the fair features a wide range of locally produced items, including handicrafts, wood products and furniture, food items and coffee with improved packaging, ornamental plants, accessories, small wooden keychains, woven textiles, and more.
In an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, Benedicta Mangadap, Trade Promotion Officer of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Kalinga, shared that a total of 91 MSMEs are participating in the fair as of Friday, February 6, 2026, which marked the soft opening of the event.
The formal opening ceremony is scheduled for February 9 and will be attended by key stakeholders and local government officials.
Mangadap said most of the participating MSMEs are from the Cordillera provinces, except Apayao, with additional exhibitors coming from Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Isabela.
According to her, the MSMEs invited from outside Kalinga are enterprises that have already participated in regional and national trade fairs. She explained that these exhibitors were invited to help local MSMEs learn from their experiences, particularly in product development, presentation, and packaging.
The DTI official emphasized that exposure to more experienced MSMEs—especially those known for quality packaging and craftsmanship, such as wood-carving enterprises from Ifugao—can inspire Kalinga MSMEs to enhance their products and explore new ideas.
"Bali tong booths natin is more than 115 kasi may mga MSMEs na dalawa ang booths ganun. Pero tong talagang MSMEs na we recorded is 91... Yong mga ininvite natin na mga tagalabas is mga sumali na ito sa mga regional and national trade fair. Tapno ti kasta, ada met maadal dagitoy MSMEs tayo ditoy Kalinga. Ada ngay pagalaan da ti new idea da. Like dagitoy packaging. Kasla dytoy wood carving, mostly ket Ifugao MSMEs dagitoy, so mabalin met lang makaadal dagitoy Kalinga MSMEs tayo," she added.
This year’s Kalinga Treasures Fair is part of the ongoing celebration of Kalinga’s 31st Founding Anniversary and the 7th Bodong Festival.
It can be recalled that the event generated over P22.8 million during the 6th Bodong Festival in 2025 and more than P21.3 million in 2024, highlighting its growing impact on the local economy and continued support for MSMEs.
The Provincial Government of Kalinga, led by Governor James S. Edduba and Vice Governor Dave Q. Odiem, invites the public to visit the fair and support local entrepreneurs by purchasing their products.
