LTFRB-CAR to inspect validity of school transport services in the region

Cordillera, Philippines – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board- Cordillera Administrative Region is set to conduct strict inspection of School Transport Services (STS) in the region on August 17, 2022.


Said effort is a part of the Oplan Balik Eskwela: Implementation of Heightened Alert Status during the start of Class 2022 by the department to ensure safety of commuters. The inspection is done to check the validity of STS franchise documents such as OR/CR.


As recalled, the operation of STS units from the different schools in Cordillera have stopped its operation for more than two-years due to pandemic and some if not many might not have their proper registration or documents.

Additionally, to ensure the safety of the commuters against the COVID-19 virus, said operation include checking safety equipment inside school transport vehicles such as thermal scanner, hand sanitizers or alcohol and others.


The inspection of STS is required to allow the said units to resume its operation few days before the reopening of both private and public schools this coming school year.


Officer-In-Charge- Regional Director Engr. Lalaine Sobremonte of LTFRB-CAR and assigned employees of the department are in charge of monitoring different STS units of various schools in Cordillera.


The inspection is set to end on August 24, 2022.
