Mayoralty candidate Dao-as begins campaign March 25, seeks support to fight corruption in Tabuk

Updated: Apr 24, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Tabuk City Vice-Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as confirms that he shall continue the fight against alleged corruption happening at the Tabuk City Hall as he campaigns to win the mayoralty race on May 9, 2022.

His campaign, he said, shall start with a motorcade on March 25, 2022, with people who, like him, desire real change in Tabuk City.

There shall be a short program where Dao-as will layout his plans for Better Governance and More Development for Tabuk City.

Dao-as is running against the sitting Mayor Darwin Estranero, Barangay Captain of Amlao Macaraio Balanggao Jr., and a former academic, Josephine Odsey.

“Maysa laeng met ti gandat ko nu apay nga tumarayak. Ammok nga saan nga bulsek dagiti taga Tabuk. Ammok met nga ammo da ti presyo ti panaggatang ti daga dita Laya, ammo da ti istorya panggep ti nagatang nga fertilizer, amo da ti talaga nga presyo ti thermal scanner ken karabasa, kasta me dagita nagatgattang nga meals ken ayuda… we cannot allow these blatant overpricing to keep happening nga isu nangparigat kania tayo amin,” said Dao-as in an interview.

Dao-as added that he only wants to serve to show the difference when the people have a leader who will not take it against them when he is criticized or questioned. He related that during his term as a Vice-Mayor he suffered many injustices, like the people of Tabuk, who cannot talk, speak or even like a post against the mayor, but he is decided to stand up for them.

“Mariknak apo ti rigat yo, mariknak ti panakapaay yo, ammok dagiti saan nga napromote uray dapat isuda, dagiti naikkat nga nagagaget nga job orders, dagiti nabutbuteng tano laeng aglike da ti post wennu message nga saan pabor ti mayor. Saan kayo agmaymaysa… adu tayo,” explained Dao-as.

Dao-as encouraged Tabukenos to take charge of their future by changing the present status quo, “dakayo met lang apo ti makakaya nga mangbaliw ti turong ti Tabuk. Nu kayat yo ti overprice nga daga ken dayo ti ag-ari nga mangpusipus ti alipuspus dagita annak yo ken mangsina-sina ti pamilya yo, adda kaniayo nu ilako yo ta butos yo.”

In his closing statements, Dao-as promised a better governance and more development that is pro people and for Tabuk.

“Ti maipromesak lang saan mapasamak ti overprice dita city hall ken aramidek nga open book amin nga transaction tapno makita ti amin nu sinu ti agserbi nga usto. Ni Apo Dios ti bahala nga mangkita kania tayo amin,” Dao-as ended.
