Minor charged with rape in Tabuk City arrested

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A minor in Tabuk City is now facing a rape charge filed against him.


This is after the suspect whose name was withheld by the Kalinga police was arrested on Tuesday, July 04.


Operatives served an arrest warrant against him for ‘rape by sexual assault’.


The warrant of arrest was issued by Hon. Jerson Angog, presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Bulanao on June 30, 2023, with no bail recommended for the temporary freedom of the accused who is residing at Cogawe, Cudal, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office disclosed.

On the same day, a 72-year-old man was also brought to Tabuk City police custody to face the attempted murder filed against him. His arrest warrant was likewise released by the court on June 30, 2023, with recommended bail of P72,000.


Further, police likewise arrested a 23-year-old man in Pinukpuk for violation of Republic Act 9516 or Codifying the Laws on Illegal/Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, Dealing in, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunition or Explosives or Instruments used without bail.


The first two arrested suspects were taken to Tabuk City Police Station while the other one was brought to the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station for documentation before they were turned over to the court that ordered their arrest.
