Mother threatens daughter in Abra, later caught with illegal drugs


Abra, Philippines - A businesswoman was caught in possession of suspected shabu this November 2 in Bangued, Philippine National Police Cordillera reported.


The suspect, identified as a certain Immelda Castillo Peralta, 53, was initially reported to the police on the said date by her daughter who claimed that the suspect was provoking trouble and that she was threatening her.


When responding authorities arrived at the place of the incident, they saw the suspect fighting with and shouting at her daughter while holding a piece of wood, allegedly intending to hit her daughter.

With this, the police immediately restrained Peralta, but in the process, a piece of sachet suddenly dropped on the ground from the suspect.


Police report that the sachet allegedly contains shabu, which was estimated to be around 0.2 grams, which has a standard drug price of P1,360.


Apart from this, two more sachets containing the same substance, which were estimated to be worth P2,720, were recovered from the suspect.

The woman was then arrested and brought to Bangued Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.


Meantime, the confiscated illegal drugs were submitted for qualitative examination at the Abra Provincial Crime Laboratory Office.
