Mt. Province LGU raises P198k to help individuals suffering grave ailments

Bontoc, Mountain Province – Three individuals in Bontoc, in which two are suffering from severe disease and one whose husband recently died from a severe disease, received P66,167 each to help augment medical expenses.


Said financial assistance was raised from the registration fees of ‘Superhero on the Go: Virtual Walk, Run, and Bike for a Cause,’ a program of the provincial government to help those in dire need, that was held last September in celebration of the 121st Philippine Civil Service month.


In a press release of the province, the virtual event started at the Provincial Plaza towards the Bontoc-Tocucan road until Latang Bridge and back. Bikers were given the choice to follow the route or may bike to their choice of destination.

A total of P198,501 was then divided for the identified beneficiaries.


Provincial Human Resources Management Office and Provincial Treasury Office handed over the cash assistance to Novy M. Felipe, a 13-year-old with End-Stage Renal Disease, on October 22, 2021.


Felipe’s parents thanked the provincial government for the assistance which they will be using for her dialysis treatment.

The wife of Bobby B. Africano was also given an assistance on October 25, 2021. Africano died of Diabetes Type II with secondary infection of neuropathic disease.


Moreover, Clayton W. Ronquillo, a Colon Cancer Stage IIIB patient, got his assistance on October 29, 2021, at his residential house in Sum-at, Bontoc.
