New general hospital in Ifugao to operate soon

Lagawe, Ifugao – The long-awaited new Ifugao General Hospital (IGH) in Lagawe, Ifugao is nearly complete, the Philippine Information Agency- Ifugao (PIA) reported.

The announcement was made by the provincial government of Ifugao led by Governor Jerry Dalipog during the soft opening ceremony of the site last Friday, June 30, 2023.

The Hospital which was funded for about P400 million has been a long buzz in the province because of its long-delayed construction that started as early as 2009.

During said ceremony, Dalipog mentioned that the hospital is almost 95 percent finished as of June 2023 and is expected to operate fully in October this year.

The governor further emphasized that they are now seeking approval from the Department of Health to operate as a Level 1 hospital and will hopefully apply for Level 2 next year.

Meanwhile, the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) is now conducting a follow-up inspection regarding the issues that have caused delays in the construction of the project.
