Tabuk City, Kalinga – As of today, February 5, the Provincial Health Office of Kalinga has not yet received the guidelines for the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines for children under 5-11 age group.

The inoculation for the said age bracket was initially scheduled by the Department of Health on Monday, February 7, but Provincial Health Officer Dr. Edward Tandingan, in an interview this Saturday, disclosed that initial vaccination for the age group will start in National Capital Region.

The roll out in the province shall commence later.

PHO said they will share information needed once the office receives the official guidelines from DOH for the roll out in the Cordillera Administrative Region or in the province.

Department of Health earlier explained that vaccinating children is critical to the country’s national vaccination program to ensure they have added protection they need against the dreaded virus.
