Balbalan, Kalinga – No soldier has been reported injured in the consecutive armed encounters in Balbalan yesterday, June 7, 2024, according to the latest update from the 5th Infantry Division.

On Friday morning, the military informed that the 54th Infantry Battalion encountered members of the Kilusang Guerilla Baggas(KLG) in Balbalan Proper which resulted in an exchange fire around 6:00 a.m.

Four hours later, another clash occurred between the 103rd Infantry Battalion and the same group of rebels in Barangay Maling.

In an update this Saturday morning, 5th ID Spokesperson, Maj. Rigor Pamittan said that there was no reported injury on the side of the government troops as of this writing. However, they believed that there might be wounded rebels due to blood stains found at the encounter sites.

This is a developing story.
