Orange & Lemons band features Miss World Ph, Valerie Pawid West in new single

Ifugao, Philippines – Miss World Philippines–Ifugao Valerie Pawid West made headlines anew as she stars in the iconic OPM band Orange & Lemons’ (ONL) new single, “Heart of Ifugao,” a piece that highlights authenticity, pride, and the enduring spirit of the Cordilleras, particularly Ifugao.

Released on November 28, 2025, at The 70’s Bistro in Quezon City, Heart of Ifugao is an original composition by Valerie’s handler, Jeanette Bocobo. The single blends folk-inspired pop with the band’s signature storytelling style, celebrating Ifugao heritage through music and visual artistry.

According to ONL’s official page, the song is a tribute to the soul of the Cordilleras and the timeless grace of Ifugao—embodying the spirit, pride, and beauty of its people. It was first performed by the band together with the Ifugao beauty queen during the Voices of Hope concert at Ifugao State University on October 4, 2025.

The song’s opening verses portray the province as a living cultural treasure, honoring its land, its people, and the grace of its women:

In the heart of the mountains, gold gently shines—

Not in the coins or crowns but the rice that defines.

Oh Banaue’s steps majestic and sublime.

With the release of Heart of Ifugao, the collaboration not only celebrates local artistry but also helps bring the province’s culture to a wider audience—highlighting Cordilleran pride and strengthening recognition of Ifugao’s rich cultural legacy.

ONL gained widespread recognition for their 2004 hit Pinoy Ako, which became the theme song for the reality show Pinoy Big Brother, as well as their other classics such as Hanggang Kailan (Umuwi Ka Na Baby) and Heaven Knows (This Angel Has Flown).
