Rizal, Kalinga – Two of the proposed P20 million worth of Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) projects in Barangay Babalag of this town had been completed, the Department of Interior on Local Government (DILG)- Cordillera reports on Thursday, April 5, 2022.
Said projects include the construction of the P2 million worth Health Station and the P3 million Level III Water System. In an earlier report of PIA Kalinga, the P15 million concreting of the Barroga-Baggas Access Road with box culvert was also completed in March.
Babalag is the lone barangay in Kalinga that benefited from SBDP in 2021 along with 7 other barangays in the Cordillera.
Babalag East is also the first in the country to ground break, which was held on November 8, 2021.
Said barangays were chosen for the SBD projects of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) having been assessed as conflict-cleared barangays. Each as recalled received P20 million worth of development projects.
Meanwhile, for 2022, another six SBDP projects amounting to P12 million are expected to be implemented in 3 barangays of Pinukpuk.
These include Barangay Apatan, Limos, and Baay which proposed the construction of four waterworks systems and the improvement of two barangay health stations.
Barangay Apatan will be given P2 million for the construction of 1 Unit Level II Potable Water Supply System at Purok 3 and 4, while P2 million is budgeted for the construction of Level II Potable Water Supply System at Sitios Tappo and Allangigan.
As for Barangay Limos, they were allocated a total of P4 million pesos in which P1.5 million is for the rehabilitation of the Level II Water System for Sitios Sidog and Tappo while the remaining P2.5 million is planned for the construction of a Barangay Health Station at Sitio Liyok.
Meantime, Barangay Baay shall be receiving the same amount as Barangay Limos which will be allotted to the construction of spring development for Sitios Matayog, Proper Ba-ay, Lukutan, and Mala-ap amounting to P3 million, and the remaining 1 million for the improvement of health station at Sitio Pinepec.
