Tabuk City, Kalinga – Police Brigadier General Steve Ludan, the Director of Region II Police Force, wished Kalinga Police to be inspired by the legacy of Captain Juan M. Duyan reminding them to be always worthy of their badge and uniform.

Ludan, who helped former Kalinga Police Provincial Director, Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong to push through with the building of Captain Juan M Duyan’s monument at the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, was the guest speaker during the unveiling of the statue this February 14.

“Kas maysa nga anak iti Kalinga, napateg kanyak daytoy nga okasyon gapu ta daytoy a monumento ni apo Captain Juan M Duyan ket haan lang nga istraktura nu di ketdi maysa a simbolismo iti awan pangyarigan a serbisyo iti panagayat para iti nasyon ken umili,” he said.

Ludan mentioned that the history tells that Captain Duyan who was a soldier, member of the Philippine Constabulary which is now the Philippine National Police, and a politician served consistently and fought for the welfare of the country and the people during his time.

With the legacy left by Duyan, he called on the people in uniformed service to be inspired to follow his footsteps and that they should not miss every opportunity to give their best in helping each other to adhere to the principle to cater to the needs of the community.

“That is why this camp [KPPO] was named in his honor, not just to always remember him, but for us to always be reminded to wear our badge and uniform with honor, integrity, and selfless service,” he stressed.

The PRO2 director further emphasized that there is no love beyond the love for the country and the love for the constituents.

“It gives me joy and pride as a Kalinga that one Captain Juan M Duyan used to live and serve our beloved province. May the rise of his monument remain wholly relevant and constantly carry a message of hope, humanity, service, and bravery,” he concluded his message.
