RIZAL, Kalinga — The Municipal Treasury Office of Rizal ranked second in collection efficiency among local treasury offices in Kalinga during the third quarter of 2026, earning recognition from the Office of the Provincial Treasurer.

The achievement was highlighted during the Local Treasury Operations Evaluation (LTOE) conducted by the provincial treasury office at the Rizal Municipal Treasury Office on October 29, 2026.

In an interview, Provincial Treasurer Ma. Theresa G. Basitao said the evaluation was part of the provincial government's continuing efforts to strengthen local treasury operations and ensure compliance with financial management laws and regulations.

Collection efficiency is vital in ensuring that municipalities generate and collect revenues due to them, providing funds for basic services, infrastructure projects and other development programs. Improved revenue collection also strengthens the financial capacity of the province and its component local government units to implement programs and respond to the needs of their constituents.

The evaluation assessed Rizal's revenue collection and financial management practices, identified areas for improvement, and provided technical assistance on the implementation and use of the Electronic Statement of Receipts and Expenditures (eSRE).

The provincial team also provided guidance on the proper processing of vouchers to ensure accurate and efficient management of government disbursements.

The Office of the Provincial Treasurer commended the Rizal municipal treasury personnel for their performance, citing their dedication and collective efforts in revenue generation and public service.

The evaluation also served as an opportunity to provide recommendations to further improve the municipality's treasury operations and strengthen its financial management system.
