Fire engulfing Sabangan Central School left P1.5M damage


Sabangan, Mt. Province – A fire incident that broke out on January 26 at Sabangan Central School left around P1,500,000 estimated damage to the school, authorities say.


The fire started at around 8:00 in the morning on said date, when flames engulfed the two-storey building of the Sabangan Central School in Barangay Losad.


According to Mountain Province Police Provincial Office, the Bureau of Fire Protection, police, and the community in ‘bayanihan’ helped to put out the fire.


After two hours, the BFP has declared a fire out at around 10:15 AM.

The two-storey building was said to be made of a combination of reinforce concrete and light materials with a floor area of 126 square meters.


Meantime, no one was reported hurt during the incident.


The Sabangan Municipal Fire Station is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
