Sagada now open for fully vaccinated tourists with personal vehicle



Sagada, Mountain Province - Fully vaccinated tourists may now again enjoy the scenic mountain valleys, limestone caves, historical hanging coffins, and other tourist attractions found in Sagada, Mt. Province.


This is after the Municipality of Sagada posted on November 28 through Facebook that it is “now gradually opening its borders to leisure travelers.”


Tourists may enter if they comply with the requirements.


Requirements for tourists entering Sagada


Only individuals aged 18 to 65 will be allowed entry and that tourists must be onboard a personal or private vehicle when visiting the town.


Prior to entry, visitors are also required to register through the ‘UMALI KAYO’ (Welcome) online registration accessed through https://umali-kayo.sagada.gov.ph. Said registration portal is open from 8 AM to 4 PM daily.

Tourists also need to present a vaccination card or certificate, indicating full vaccination.


Personnel manning the borders will need negative test results of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), valid for 72 hours from the date of release.


Booking a room for a minimum of one night to establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism and certified by the Local Government Unit must be made at least two days before arrival in Sagada.

The establishments are categorized into two: Central and Peripheries. Establishments at or near the center of town, which are in close proximity to most shops and restaurants, are under the Central category. Establishments that are more than 1 kilometer away from the center of town are under Peripheries which are most preferred by those looking for a quiet and peaceful holiday.
