2 men killed in Cauayan, Isabela motorcycle-truck collision

Cauayan City, Isabela - Traffic violations, just like encroaching on another vehicle's lane, lead to accidents with some resulting in deaths.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, a motorcycle driven by a yet-to-be-known individual and a pickup truck were traversing the national road in Purok 6, San Fermin, Cauayan City.

The vehicles were said to be traveling said road in the opposite direction.

However, upon reaching the site of the incident, the pickup truck allegedly encroached on the lane of the motorcycle, resulting in the crash.

The truck was driven by a certain Henry Macutay, a businessman and a resident of Faustino, Cauayan City.

Due to the impact of the crash, the driver of the motorcycle and its back rider sustained severe injuries in various parts of their bodies.

They were quickly ferried to a nearby hospital, but the driver was declared dead on arrival. The back rider, identified as Aries Vigan, 22, a security guard, meantime, died a few hours later.

Investigation of the case is still ongoing.
